Praying for Others

2 hours 53 min ago
Monday’s Reflection

WHEN WE INTERCEDE for someone or pray for a deep concern, we don’t preempt God. Long before we get a phone call or a note asking us to pray for someone or some concern, God is there, God’s love energies at work. That should lift a heavy burden that everything depends on us. We can confess with the Apostle Paul that we do not know how to pray as we ought. Like him, we depend on the Holy Spirit to come in to help us in our weakness and to intercede with “unutterable groans” (Rom 8:26).

The Echo of Praise

September 7, 2008 - 02:01
Sunday’s Reflection

FROM SHORE TO SHORE
Let God’s praise be sung.
From mountain highs to valleys low
Let the echo of praise resound.
From the mouths of children and the prayers of saints
Let thanksgiving abound.
