Adult Small Groups
Small groups are a great way to get connected to others adults. Check out the small group page to find out more about a group that might work for you.
Parent Network
Parent Network works to connect parents to each other for encouragement and support in the process of raising children. Parent Network sponsors ministries such as Preschool Play groups and family events. Check out the bulletin board on the lower level which includes a "swap shop" along with babysitting contacts, etc.
Parent Night Out! (Ages: K-5th grades.)
This is a good time to have adult time while the kids are having a Fabtastic time building friendships and just having fun. Parents can drop off kids at 6:00 p.m. and pick them up at 9:30 p.m. on the first Friday of every month. There is a minimal cost to cover expenses. Kids have dinner and do an activity such as bowling, Kids Place, etc. Check the calendar for details. The premission slip is attached for download.
Father & Child Events
Watch for fun nights for fathers and child. Bring a friend! Check out the calendar for details. Contact Jimmy at Mr.jimmybush(at)yahoo.com to get involved or if you have questions.
The Source
The Source is a ministry of the Parent Network and was created to "resource" parents. Special resources, workshops, small groups, seminars, and Coffee Talk events provide special opportunties to grow as parents, couples, and as individuals. Events include such topics as Parenting for Faith, A New Look At Discipline: Preparing for Life, Marriage, and Taking Care of Elderly Parents. Childcare is provided. Check the News & Events page for details.
The Source can also connect you with Financial Peace University, a class by Dave Ramsey. Ramsey's financial advise both on the air and in his many resources has helped thousands find financial peace-of-mind. Contact Randy Barnett at randy(at)christchurchlex.com to get more information about when the class is offered at Christ Church.
Parent Conferences
Our children's Pastor can meet with you individually about any questions that you may have about Joylands and the growth and transformation of your child in their faith journey with Christ. Joyland Children & Family Ministries wants to be in partnership with you as you walk with your children inyour family's journey with Christ. Contact Brenda for a conference brenda(at)christchurchlex.com.
Ministry on the Go
Ministry on the Go is a ministry that allows children and families the opportunity to serve others throughout the year. Each month K-5th graders travel off campus to serve those in need in the Lexington community. The first Wednesday of the month, children travel to the Kenton Center Nursing Home to serve the residents with games, crafts, singing and praying for their needs. Check the calendar for details. Families are given opportunities in the year to serve together. Christmas time provides opportunities to get out on Christmas Eve and be with those that might be alone. Also, families work together to collect food for the Jesus Cupboard Food Drive to "Feed the 5,000" which is a children's drive for the entire church for the year 2008. Currently children are collecting money to help a village get safe drinking water. Past projects have included tsunami relief, Heifer International, and a clothing drive for orphans in Zimbabwe. "Ministry on the Go" special offering projects can be found on the Fridge Notes from Joylands Worship.
Things to Look For
Joylands uses experience of God, mentorship, and friendships to bring children closer to God and tools that help children begin to learn about God's Word, the Bible. The Mfactor is the monthly Bible memory verse that all children work on throughout a month in Joylands Worship. You'll find it in Fridge Notes from Joylands Worship and on room 202's blackboard.
Summer Bible Reading Logs
Encourage your child to read the Bible or have the Bible read to him or her during the summer! Completed reading logs will earn your child coupons to local businesses for good food and fun! Pick up a reading log Sunday May 31st.
Joylands to Go - These are once-a-month fun devotions to take home and do with your family. They are fun lessons that highlight the Joylands Worship Message series for that mont
h and are sure to create a little excitement in your home.
Heather Bush writes these devotions. Here's a short bio.
Heather lives with her husband, Jimmy, and their three children, Camden, Kaia, and Layna and two dogs, Wilson and Jackson. Both Heather & Jimmy have a heart for parents and the "job" of raising kids to know God. Heather is the Christ Church Parent Network Team Leader. In her down time-ha!, Heather enjoys scrapbooking, cake deocrating, and watching movies.
Preschool Play Group
This group brings parents and kids together for a fun morning. The first play group of the new school year will meet on September 12 10:30-12:00 on the Christ Church playground. Contact Heather Bush if you are interested at jimmy_and_heather(at)yahool.com. Watch the calendar for future dates.

Help Your Family
The average child will spend over 1000 hours every year in school and they will spend less than 100 hours at church. The average parent has more than 10 times the opportunties to discuss spiritual issues in one year than a small group leader or worship leader does in 10 years. We can't do it without you! We need you to help us help your child by doing three things.
-
Bring your child to Joylands Worship! Be sure he or she gets a consistent hour of Worship each week.
-
Bring your child to a small group! Be sure he or she gets a consistent hour with the same group of firends and the same leader every week.
-
Talk about it every week. Remember the Fridge Note, remember the MFactor for the month.
-
Utilize the family ministry equipping tools made avaiable to you. Coffee Talks, Impact DVDS, Parent Conferences, special seasonal family devotion kits and events, weekly Family Fridge Notes with weekly devotions, and your own adult small group.
