Bible Study During Lent

Pastor Chris will lead a Bible Study each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and each Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Both studies will be held in the Worship Center. They will be identical studies, but held on these different days, beginning February 17th & 18th.  No need to register. Everyone is welcome.

Women's Self Defense Training - March

Ever feel afraid to be alone? Ever wonder who's creeping around the corner? Fear no more! Sign up for the complete self-defense RAD class taught by officiers from the Nicholasville Police Department! Classes will be held the second and third Mondays and Thursdays of March (8, 11, 15, 18) (notice date change) from 6-9pm at Christ Church. Make A Difference

God wants to use what he blessed you with to be a blessing to others. Don't bury your talents. Use them to serve and bless others. Christ Church is committed to serving the broken people in our community, and in that way offering God's healing to them and to us. 

 

Harrison Elementary is a mentoring program for children ages K-5th grades.  Harrison is a school that serves some of the poorest children in Lexington.  To learn more about volunteering or being a sponsor this school year, go here or ontact Nancy Martin, nmartin2101(at)msn.com.

 

Room In the Inn Ministry helps to provide friendship, food and shelter for homeless men from the Lexington area.  Contact Tim Bischoff, timothybischoff(at)yahoo.com  if you would like to find out more.

 

Jesus Cupboard provides emergency food for those in need in Lexington.  It can also provide gas and bus money for those that need help with transportation.  Contact Janiel Gammon, janiel2452(at)insightbb.com if you would like to find out more.

 

Canaan House Ministry provides friendship and support to a local group home for the mentally ill.  Contact John Story, john.story(at)kctcs.edu if you would like to find out more.  

 

 

Kentucky United Methodist Children's Home is a place where the 24:15 adult small group services once a month, and this September the group was awarded the Volunteer of the Year award by the Methodist Home.  The group throws cook-outs and special parties for the residents developing friendships that make a difference in the children's lives and the group has helped the Home with repairs, etc.  Click on the 24:15 group to find out more about when this small group meets and how you can join them.

 

Pine Meadows Nursing Home is a place where children serve regularly on the first Wednesday of each month.  The children play games with the residents, plant flowers, do art together and sing and pray with them. Children also throw special seasonal parties as well.  Children develop important relationships with the residents and learn how to serve and give to others.  For more informaiton on this ministry contact, Children & Family Pastor, Brenda Story, brenda(at)christchurchlex.com. 

 

 

Nathaniel Mission is a place where our 4th & 5th graders are in ministry with the Nathaniel Mission children on Wednesday nights at the first of the month.  This ministry is hoping to develope a singing group with the MIssion and explore other possible avenues of working together in minstry.  If you are interested in finding out more contact Martha Shannon, campshannon(at)insightbb.com.
