God continues to reveal his faithfulness to our church through the journey to a new location that began in June of 2014. In January of 2019 we purchased 14 acres of undeveloped farmland at the corner of Harrodsburg Road (US 68) and Catnip Hill Road (KY 3375). During 2019 an architectural firm was hired for the design and development of the new facility. In December, the preliminary plans for the building were unanimously approved by the Church Conference. Over the first few months of 2020, the design of the building has been further developed. In March, the trustees hired a construction management firm to oversee the project to completion.
This journey took a significant step with a Groundbreaking service on October 4th, 2020. We celebrate and thank God for leading us to this point and look toward his best future for us.
As we move into the beginning phases of construction, please continue to pray for God’s guidance for us as we seek to be obedient to who God is calling us to be as Christ Church.
November 21, 2020- Construction is now underway-the foundation work is moving forward with pouring the concrete footers. Also, the athletic field has been graded and is ready to receive grass seed.
January 2021- The foundation work continues toward completion around the end of the month. Utility work (electrical and plumbing) placed under the concrete slab is about to begin.
March 2021- The concrete slab floor has been poured and finished. Structural steel framing is going up on site as the building begins to take shape.
April 2021- Exciting changes are happening on site with the installation of the wood beams which are the structure for the Worship Center and Welcome Center. The exterior walls are also being built at this time.
July 2021- In spite of unprecedented price increases and material shortages within the construction industry, the building’s progress continues moving forward. The exterior walls have been framed; the roof structure is almost completed; mechanical systems (electric, plumbing, and HVAC) have begun installations. The construction schedule has been stretched, but so far the completion date has not been affected.
