Lead Pastor: Tim Steffen
Pastor Tim returned to the Lexington area in June 2018 after 30 years of pastoral ministry in Georgia. Tim is a graduate of Lafayette High School, the University of Kentucky (bleeds blue) and Asbury Theological Seminary. His wife Delia is employed by Jessamine County Schools. They have three adult children, Jacob, Rebekah and Jordan. He enjoys kayaking, hiking and watching college football and basketball. Tim is excited about the fresh ways God is using Christ Church to make faithful followers of Jesus.
Worship Leader: Sarah McGinnis
Sarah McGinnis is a Kentucky native and life-long member of the United Methodist Church. She holds a Masters in Theological Studies and Spiritual Formation from Asbury Theological Seminary (May 2021) and has 15+ years of experience leading worship in a variety of settings, including the local church. (As a side note, she served at our beloved Aldersgate Camp as Summer Program Director for two years!) Sarah is married to Brandon, who serves as the Director and Campus Minister of the Wesley Foundation at Eastern Kentucky University. Together they have two children, Allie (age 10) and Elijah (age 7). Sarah loves the outdoors, music, and food (both preparing it and eating it!), but above all, Sarah has a deep love for Jesus and desires for all people to know the freedom and love found in Christ’s abiding presence.
Children & Family Pastor: Brenda Story
Brenda got her seminary training at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore and is a Deacon in the United Methodist Church. She’s married to John, who is a clinical psychologist and professor at BCTCS. She also has a son Daniel and daughter-in-law, Catelynn. Brenda enjoys being outdoors hiking, swimming, etc. Helping kids and their families discover God and live everyday-life with joy and on mission is her passion.
Youth Pastor: Andy McSpadden
Andy received his seminary training from Asbury Theological Seminary and has served as youth pastor since May of 1999. Alyssa, his wife, is an intervention teacher for Fayette County. They are the parents of three boys, Wilson, Luke, and Tyler. Andy loves outdoor adventure sports such as backpacking, rappelling, biking, and rock climbing. Andy has a passion for working with students and seeing them come into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ and mature in their faith.
